At the request of Crawford Central School District in Meadville, PA, CenterPoint Engineering designed and installed a hot water biomass boiler and central plant building. The system included a boiler building, wood chip storage building, and hot water distribution system through three adjacent buildings: the school district, the Career Technical Center, and the recreation department.
CenterPoint was engaged by the Clearfield Area School District to develop an alternative energy analysis to comply with DOE grant requirements. The evaluation considered solar, wind and biomass boiler systems. The concept required that a 300HP steam boiler be retrofitted in an existing boiler room.
Wyalusing Jr/Sr High School required the design a 300HP hot-water biomass boiler and central plant building. The project included boiler building, wood chip storage building, and hot water distribution system. The project also included air-pollution control permit processing.
